Now the seller contacts me again and wants to sell me the item directly, once I have removed my Paypal dispute. When I alerted the seller that my dispute had already gone through I never heard from him again. Also, I got an email from Ebay stating that the seller was not "shut down" due to negative feedback but because he violated several of Ebay's rules, none of which they could list for privacy concerns apparently. I'm not going to call for this guy's head, as bidders are getting their money back but I'm not giving him a pass either. After all he did list an incorrect contact number...that wasn't even in the same state. He may very well be a fraud after all.

I did a white page search on the net using the seller's name and the city in AZ he listed and came up with this. I don't know if this is the guy or not, don't want to falsely accuse anyone. See what you think.

I don't have any news! On the PayPal dispute form it says that the seller's deadline for answering the dispute is Thursday, June 19th. So one more week. So, since I filled the dispute I got no answer from anywhere. I hope I will get my money back! Gosh what a mess! I don't know what to believe anymore!

I received this e-mail form allsystems555:

Hello,

I see you have filed a complaint with Paypal. We were having a problem with paypal which did not allow us to ship your item.

We have resolved our issues with Paypal. We are willing to ship your item out if you still wish to have us do so. If so, please close the dispute in Paypal and once it is closed we will ship your item out within 24 hours.

Please note: we cannot ship the items out without the dispute being closed as we need the funds to be available.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Thank you,

ALL SYSTEMS555

I wrote him back to go on with the refund. I have a really big problem believing him considering the time that has passed.

Did anyone cancel the dispute with PayPal and got the item after that?

I got the same email from AllSystems555. I reminded him that I had already received a refund from PayPal and that the refund has been posted to my credit card account. My PayPal case is closed.

Today, 6/17/2008, I looked him up on Ebay. He is listed as "No longer a registered user."

Ok so I have had the exact problem all of you had, 4 gps units 350 dollars. I figured that the refund would never come, so I canceled the dispute in hopes of speeding up the process. The units are for a summer camp that is starting next week. I just wanted them quickly as possible, as I ordered them like 3 or 4 weeks ago. I have no clue what to do now. Paypal wont allow me the reopen my dispute, I guess im up and out 350 dollars? anyone have any advice????? will my credit card company protect me??? Will paypal work with us, since there are so many people with the same issue... can we find this guys house? :>)
Hope we can solve this

Your best bet is to contact paypal by phone and explain the situation and try and get your money back.....It would also not hurt to call your credit card company to see what they can do.

I got my refund of $1050 from paypal. So people are getting money back.

I did contact paypal by phone. they said once you close the dispute that you are no longer protected by them... did you close the dispute?? or did you keep it open and ask for the refund. I think i made a 350 dollar mistake in trusting this seller and closing the dispute at his request. live and learn...

I made the claim against them and it took only 5 minutes for them to issue the refund. However it took over a week and a half to actually get my money.

supermanska:

Document your actions and communications carefully. Contact your credit card company by phone to dispute the charges. Follow-up immediately in writing. Give as much detail as possible. Expect a minimum of 30 days to resolve. Longer if the mechant disagrees.

Those of you who have disputes pending at PayPal regarding your transactions with all-systems555:

If you have not escalated your dispute to a claim do so ASAP. Resist the temptation to withdraw the claim or the dispute unless you actually receive what you ordered pursuant to the terms of your purchase. If, after you receive your refund, you still want to purchase from all-systems555, negotiate a C.O.D. arrangement with him so that your money is never at risk.

I first detected a problem within a day or so of placing my "BuyItNow" order on Ebay. I contacted ebay and paypal (by phone) without delay. The claim was processed quickly and the refund was agreed and paid within 48 hours of my initial contact with PayPal.

I want to let you know that I got my money back :-D It took a while but finally it's over for me.

Supermanska, there has to be a solution. Can't you re-open the dispute with PayPal. How long ago did you close the dispute?
You shouldn't have trusted the seller after all that happened.
I made a search on him on White Pages, it seems that his name appears in AZ and also in Chicago, so I think that phone number I listed on page 1 or 2 might be his after all. Anyway, the first contact from the seller was after I left him a message on that phone. Next day he contacted me by email with that thing about closing the dispute. I don't know if it was a coincidence or not.
I'm glad I didn't close that dispute. I thought it might be a trick.

Supermanska I really hope you get your money back too!
