Hi! I really want to sell something at Ebay. I haven't found the perfect product yet, but I'm sure I'll find it soon.
I just want to know...do you think there are too many eBay sellers already? |

I don't think too many sellers is a problem, but I do think there are not enough buyers at the moment on ebay uk. The site has taken a lot of criticism in the press over the last few months for shill bidding, counterfeits and general scams, which has put a lot of people off buying.
Ebay are not helping by have loads of Cheap Listing Days either - it simply saturates an already subdued market with lots of junk, and depresses selling prices due to over supply.
For volume sellers, the fees are pretty steep to use as a sole sales outlet unless you find a niche product, or can offer a very competitive price or can afford a low margin. As a lead generation tool though it is possibly the best medium out there - sell to them once on eBay, then keep them coming back to a separate site where you can sell the same product without having to pay eBay for the privilege. You have the chance to prove yourself with the first sale to the customer, and if all goes well they will hae no hesitation in trusting to buy again outside of eBay! |

| Their are lots of eBay sellers. Make sure its what you want to do, and put forth with it. Keep on the ball and you will succeed. It takes time, effort, money, and research. |

I think you need a niche and a very good product source.
Many sellers are making little (if any) money, which makes it hard for business sellers to compete.
Ask yourself what products you can get hold of that no one else easily can? |

| There are too many sellers putting up bad bids. There will be too many sellers one day but not today. |

| You don't need to find a perfect product. You only need to find a reliable wholesaler who will give an excellent price - which is a lot easier than finding a perfect product. There are indeed a lot of sellers on eBay. But people still make money. |

I don't think there are too many sellers since a lot of them stop selling after a while. So new sellers just end up taking old sellers' place.
So in truth the amount of sellers doesn't increase that much. |

If you love what u'r doing will put time & effort to it.
The more u do so- the better u'll become.
And than, it doesn't matter THAT MUCH how many "competitors" you've got, or how strong they are. You'll make it ANYWAY!
Cheers. |

| I think that no matter how many sellers there may be, you can still stand out if you have a niche site like some of the users above have said. Images that look nice and keywords are all important. If you are selling something that is low-cost, consider opening an eBay store, it saves money in the long run. |

It doesnt matter if there is too many sellers online as there will not be enough buyers for all of them to stay.
If you are selling very competative item, that is currently at the demand, you need something that will grab their attention, as people become very picky nowadays. Just watch your relatives browsin lol! |

I don't think there are as many sellers as there wher earlier this year. I say this due to all the recent changes eBay has implemented. These changes have many sellers looking elsewhere to sell online.
This is great news for the sellers who are sticking with eBay. Less competition means more sales for them.
I'm not leaving eBay until there are more sellers than buyers. That has not happened yet. So I'm in for the long haul.
Here is to your success
