helo Everyone.
First post, so be gentle with me. Ive been reading some of your posts, and what has happened to me has happened to some of you as well. Im a bit confused as to why ebay have suspended my account, so i thought some of you maybe able to point me in the right direction
Suddenley got an email this week stating that some of my feedback was not up to scratch and could I sort it out, until then I was suspended for 30days. Just looked at feedback, Ive got 7 negs, 3 of which are from 1guy whose seeds never turned up in the Us. The others are much of the same, seeds not turning up. All were sent though, and all have been refunded,
Ive asked Ebay, what can I do to rectify this.
No answer from them yet though.
I have heard that ebay periodically has a purge of the little guys, is this right? I may not be a power seller but I still pay enough in ebay fees every month.
Im really not chuffed with this, especially as I know of one seller in Turkey who is certainly very dodgy. I know that there are lots of people who have informed ebay about this guy, and still he is allowed to get away with this. He sells seeds that he hasnt got and has never ordered. but he still gets away with it.
Any ideas how to get me back on ebay? suggestions welcome
Thanks

OK, First thing first - have you spoke to eBay live chat as it's the quickest & easiest way to speak to someone at eBay?

Also, what percentage of your feedback do the 7 negs represent?

I understand it is not really 10 people but still 10 negative feedback ratings is a lot. I think they must have some software which alerts them when 10 negatives are attained due to all the plonkers who deliberately try to mess up auctions.
I guess the only thing you can do is try to come to some arrangement with your buyers or wait 30 days.

I, too, have been temporarily suspended from Ebay as a seller (account restricted, I guess is the term).

My youngest child recently required hospitalization and several trips out of town to specialists, which resulted in my shipments being very late. I use an automatic relisting service to relist my unsold auctions, so bidders who didn't receive their items in a timely manner started leaving negative feedback saying I was still selling, but not shipping. Out of 72 feedbacks, 8 were negative in the past month and a half. I sent e-mails to all bidders that had won items that hadn't been shipped and apologized, explained the situation, and have been shipping items left and right, trying to get all the items out as quickly as possible. My post office hates to see me coming now. Laughing

The larger percentage of my bidders have been understanding, but a few have not, which has resulted in the negative feedback. I don't blame them for leaving negative feedback, but many of them say I didn't communicate with them - I did - but how do I know they received my e-mails, and that their e-mail system didn't delete it or flag it as spam??

I guess at this point, the only thing I can do is wait the 30 days, and reply to all the negative feedbacks with the date the item was delivered to them according to USPS, so that Ebay can see that the items were delivered. I doubt the negative feedback bidders would be interested in helping me at this point by leaving a follow-up reply that they received their item.

Has anyone had luck in getting their account reinstated after the 30 days, by proving that the deficiency in seller performance was the result of an emergency, and not intentional??

How about using Advanced search to get the contact details of any buyers and if they have a phone number listed with eBay call them to explain the situation. At least this way, you'll know where you stand with your buyers & I'm sure they'll be more understanding over the phone, than if you'd contacted them though email.

Can you still use eBay advanced search when your account is restricted? If not, then I'm afraid all you can do is wait and then try to limit the damage caused.

I'm not sure if I can still use Advanced Search but it's worth a try, Mark - thank you for the tip.

I hope I can salvage my Ebay reputation after this. It's been a mess.

PostPosted: Fri Aug 03, 2007 8:24 pm    Post subject: I honestly give up Selling on Ebay!! Reply with quote

Hi, I've sold off and on for years on ebay and have always gotten some kind of suspension, this time is was because my Feedback was not up to par which most were not true to begin with and were from lies one lady kept on emailing to others becasue I wouldn't do what she wanted when she wanted. I don't understand ebay anymore it seems it you don't sell tons of money weekly then they don't care if you stay or not. I honestly think Feeback needs to be done in a different way to many people abuse it and lie about it!!!!

Actually I had a family emergency and I emailed Ebay everyday with shipping numbers and when they were shipped basically drove them crazy until they understood there was an emergency but if you do send an email explaining the situation they will listen. Or I just got lucky I really just drove them nuts until they reopened it, unfortunately some people don't realize that there is life outside of ebay and expect you to do what they say, I even refunded an item and sent it anyway and they still left a negative so I won't do that again

Maybe they suspend in like a bulk some so they can check everyone everynow and then or maybe when you get a complaint that they need to look into, but honestly I don't understand a lot of what ebay does

Just an update...I've decided to stop selling permanently. This has turned into a nightmare situation, with bidders leaving negatives left and right after they've gotten their items, or leaving them the day before their item arrives and not updating the feedback, some turning claims into Paypal before their item arrives, and a couple of items disappearing into the black hole of the USPS. My Ebay reputation is going to be unsalvageable, and I'm almost certain Ebay will not reinstate my account once the 30 days is up after all the negatives I've received. I've just decided to wash my hands of the whole thing. All my items have been shipped out, so I'm doing the best I can by my bidders, and I've even refunded some that insisted on it, even after the items were shipped.

I'm so sorry to hear your plight, however I had a similar issue with Halloween, I shipped out over 300 costumes in the first 2 weeks of October, got proof of posting, out of the 300 almost 100 never got there, I really couldnt understand this, even though there had been a postal strike in the UK for 4 days - surely my items should have delivered.

However, out of the 100, 30 would not accept that I had shipped them, even though they had been emailed the proof of posting certificate! They went on to open Paypal disputes and currentyly I have refunded them all and now I am making a claim against Royal Mail.

To make it more interesting these 30 have decided I don't know why to leave me negative feedback, even though i went out of my way to help and even gave refunds!! I'm beginning to think Ebay is nothing but a glorified garage sale....

I'm going to concentrate on Craiglsit its as large, as powerful and it doesn't cost to advertise!!!!
