Hi
Just wondering if anyone knows how I would stand if my boyfriend used my ebay account to buy something and we then split up before the item was paid for?
Would I be still liable to pay the winning amount even though I wouldn't necessarily want the item. Say it was a second hand car?
Thanks |

as far as the "legality" of the site goes, then yes you would be responsible - it's your account, your liability.
However I think a fair few sellers would be reasonably understanding if you withdrew the bid, or asked for a mutual cancellation. You can not be forced to pay, debt colectors are not likely to come knocking, but at worst you take a negative and an unpaid item strike - not the end of the world though. |

| Thank you that is some reassurance. Must stress that it hasn't happened to me and hopefully never will, but I hear my friends saying that they just share one account with their boyfriends and I wonder if this kind of situation could occur and what would be the penalties. |
