If you want to be a successful seller with your own eBay business, Here’s ten step by step rules to follow which will have your eBay business starting with a bang.

Step 1: Identify your niche market on eBay. Visit eBay pulse Daily and create a text document of all the most popular keywords being used by people searching for products to buy on eBay.

Market research like this will have you eBay business starting with a bang.

Step 2: Watch the competition. Before you spend any money listing items for sale, see what the other sellers in your category are doing, find several powersellers with large eBay shops and add them to your favourites list.

check these sellers out for at least two weeks, when you visit them click on there feedback score number and make a text document of there biggest selling items. what do they sell the most of. I guarantee there will be some items that sell time and time again.

These are the items that you want to be selling on eBay.

Step 3: Once you’ve found a product or two you want to sell on eBay: Get hold of a wholesaler or Dropshipper for the item you want to sell. put this into Google search exactly like this "rc car"+"wholesaler" basically all your doing is telling Google to bring back websites with the words rc car and wholesaler in them.

This is a great way to find wholesalers within your niche. by the way you need to replace rc car with the product you want to sell on eBay.

Step 4: Don’t Spend lots of money when you start selling on eBay: list a few items and see what sells, when you find an item that sells, just ramp things up a bit. buy more product or if your dropshiping list the same item in lots of different categories. i bet you find your item sells in lots of different categories, most do.

Step 5: Rinse and repeat. Keep trying different strategies until you find one that works, and then keep doing it, again and again. The chances are that you’ve just found a good niche.

Step 6: Create a business plan: An eBay business plan doesn’t need to be anything formal, just a few pages that outline the market opportunity you’ve spotted, your strategy, strengths and weaknesses of the plan and a brief budget. This is more for you than it is for anyone else.

Step 7: Invest, expand and grow your business: This is the time to throw money at your business. Buy more products to sell on eBay, and start spending more time on your business. Set a goal number of sales each week etc and don’t stop until you achieve your goals.

Step 8: Make it official: Once you’ve made a few thousand dollars worth of sales, you should really register yourself as a business. Don’t worry, it’s not expensive or hard to do - a lawyer or your bank business manager the best person to help you through this process.

Step 9: Automate: You’ll probably find that you’re writing the same things again and again in emails or item descriptions. This is the time to give up on the manual method and turn to seller manager pro eBay software that can automate everything for you, also use turbo lister to list all the items your selling on eBay.

Step 10: Never give up: Even when it looks like it’s all going wrong or your not getting lots of sales, (it happens to all of us.) don’t worry and never stop working until you succeed. If you keep working at it then you’ll almost always find that you can make a real breakthrough just when things are starting to look bad.

Once you get into the swing of things, you might start thinking that you should quit your job and take up eBay selling full time. But it’s not always as easy as that - there are all sorts of factors that you need to consider before you do this.

Selling on eBay and starting a money making business is easier than you think if you have the right blueprint to follow and this ten step plan will have you starting your eBay business like a professional.

I will add a quick note. To help you find what people are buying, when you do a search, scroll down and on the left you'll see "completed auctions" you'll be able to see what people actually spent money on which is very valuable.

Great post, thanks for taking the time to post it. I can vouch for all the steps you mention. Step 7 reinvesting in your business is crucial if you want to see it grow and eventually gain your independance from ebay.

Thanks
